The Conveyor Belt
June, 2025
Key aspects: CAD Design, Design in Context, Creating Library file, Selecting Outsourced parts, using weldments and 3d Sketches.
Solo Project
Project duartion: 5 Days
The conveyor belt was design as a CAD exercise to improve my CAD skills and getting familiar with the process of designing a conveyor belt, a highly useful machine in the manufacturing industry.
I wanted to practice designing in context and using the 3D sketches to generate weldment structures. Additionally, I learnt cool things like selecting a belt for the electric motor and modifying the weldment library by adding a new size of aluminium extrusion.
If your curious to know how I learnt to do it, the answer is always youtube (okey, not always).
